The WHO has published a job vacancy announcement on 25 March 2024 for qualified Nigeria’s to fill in the vacant post of State Coordinator to be based in Abuja, Nigeria.

Description Of Duties:

Provide Technical support to the MOH in developing, implementing and evaluating national PHC revitalization, routine immunization programme (NIP) strategies at state level in updating and adapting relevant guidelines, materials and tools, and in performing training needs assessments, organizing and implementing training activities; Support the Ministry of Health or other health related interlocutors in the country in planning and organizing risk communication activities and health campaigns; Support the Field and Zonal Coordinator in implementing projects on vaccinations and other health campaigns, including support to capacity-building activities; Advocate for and participate in weekly coordination meetings of the State Technical Team to monitor implementation of priority PHC revitalization, routine immunization activities as articulately in the State activity/operational state plans;

Qualification:

University degree in a health-related field medicine, public health or other related field from an accredited/recognized institute.

Experience:

At least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in reproductive health developing capacity and policies linked to high quality maternal, newborn, and reproductive health care programmes. Within this experience, demonstrated professional experience working at the country level providing technical advice and services to national counterparts, Ministry of Health, and other external partners on reproductive health programmes. Experience managing diverse teams.
