CIFOR Kenya looking for “Breeding Operation Support Specialist”.

To do so, we conduct innovative research, develop partners’ capacity, and actively engage in dialogue with all stakeholders to inform policies and practices that affect forests and people.

The CIFOR has published a job vacancy announcement on 19 December 2023 for qualified Kenya’s to fill in the vacant post of Breeding Operation Support Specialist to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

CIFOR Job Vacancy 2024

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead capacity development initiatives in the region to increase adoption of T&N services, improve effectiveness of T&N services.
• Provide first support to customers of T&N services.
• Connecting customers with specialists (consultants, engineers, etc..).
• Visit CGIAR/NARES research stations and identify gaps and opportunities to improve adoption of T&N services.
• Implement T&N projects in the region (pilots, infrastructure projects managed by T&N, etc.

Qualification & Experience:

• Degree in the field of plant science, agronomy, agriculture engineering.
• +5 years’ experience in plant breeding, breeding operations, or operations management in agriculture sector
• Relevant experience in agriculture sector
• Strong knowledge of mechanization technologies, irrigation systems, and farm equipment.
