The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, also known as UN Women, is a United Nations entity charged with working for gender equality and the empowerment of women. UN Women is charged with advocating for the rights of women and girls, and focusing on a number of issues, including violence against women and violence against LGBT people.

Eligibility Criteria

Required education level:

Bachelor degree or equivalent in Gender and Development, Statistics, or related area in social sciences, human rights, gender/women’s studies, international development, or a related field is required.

Required experience:

3 years of experience in Gender, Statistics and program management at the national or international level.
Technical experience in Gender Statistics is an added advantage.
Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is an asset.
Experience working in the UN System is an asset.
Experience in leading/managing a team is an asset.
Experience with computerized financial/accounting systems or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
Solid overall computer literacy, including proﬁciency in various MS office applications, including MS Excel.
Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural team of international and national personnel.
Ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range or partners and organizations, and with personnel under various positions and levels.
Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment and with tight deadlines.
Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision.
Sound security awareness.
Knowledge of UN system is an advantage, or other relevant programmes. experience with Mine Action is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization.
Have interest in International Development, UN Women mandate, volunteerism-all as a mechanism for durable development.
