The NRC has published a job vacancy announcement on 07th January 2024 for qualified South Sudanese to fill in the vacant post of Protection Assistant to be based in Wau, South Sudan.

Generic Responsibilities

The responsibilities depend to some degree on the existing organizational chart of the Country Office and the size and complexity of the operations. If these responsibilities are not reflecting the reality of the field operations, the COs can adapt the content as long as the structure and style are the same. Details shall be incorporated in the Work- and Professional Development Plan and not be included in the JD.

Coordinate the ICLA activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and plans
Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements
Involve and inform communities and community leaders about the activities
Break down the annual operational plans into weekly, monthly and quarterly implementation plans
Coordinate with relevant partners
Ensure that procurement, development and distribution of materials and equipment are timely and according to procedures
Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents as required
Investigate and facilitate introduction of new technology, methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities

Eligibility Criteria

Holder of bachelor degree in Law, social sciences from recognized University or equivalent with extensive experience
Experience from working as a Legal aid/access to Justice in a humanitarian/recovery context
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Knowledge about own manager skills/profile
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Example: Knowledge of the context in South Sudan
Example: Knowledge of Arabic language and other location languages
Example: Experience with start-up, exit or similar
