IGCP Uganda looking for “Driver”.

IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional afromontane forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.

The IGCP has published a job vacancy announcement on March 08, 2024 for qualified Uganda’s to fill in the vacant post of Driver to be based in Gulu, Uganda.

Duties And Responsibilities

Our client is seeking for a driver who can safely transport personnel and assets between designated locations while maintaining a high level of professionalism and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities include dropping and picking up staff, collecting various packages, and maintaining a travel log to record work hours, travel- time and locations travelled to.
Promptly informing the company of any tickets issued against the company vehicle during work hours.
Maintain high standard of service to both internal and external guests.
Ensure punctuality and safe transport.
Have basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and maintain official vehicle in clean and road-worthy condition.
Ensure that safe driving practices are adhered to and observe the road and traffic laws and regulations
Ensure vehicle is kept clean, tidy and in good working condition always.
Ensure vehicle is always kept secure.
Ensure vehicle is given regular/day-to-day maintenance checks.
Ensure vehicle insurance and registration is updated according to schedule.

Qualification:

Minimum 4 years’ experience as driver with good driving record.
Experience with driving Corporates.
UCE- Certificate.
Defensive driving-Certificate.
Valid driving license- class B

Requirements

Excellent driving skills and a good understanding of the transport law.
Flexible, effective teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Good knowledge about car mechanics.
Good communication skills.
Good in communicating in English.
