Baylor has published a job vacancy announcement on February 19, 2024 for qualified Uganda’s to fill in the vacant post of KP/Gender Prevention Officer to be based in Kabarole, Uganda.

Overall Responsibilities

Develop cluster quarterly work plans for implementation of KP/PP and gender services and integration of gender standards into district plans and budgets to address gender inequalities that hinder access to HIV prevention, care and treatment services.
Develop strategies for integration of human rights standards or principles and gender mainstreaming perspectives in HIV and other Baylor supported Health programs.
Train, coach and mentor DHT, district, Health Facility, CBO and DIC staff in efficient Differentiated models of HTS, eMTCT & EID, PrEP, Gender and coordinate scale up plans in line with existing national policy guidelines.
Advocate and actively engage men and boys as key stakeholders and agents in promoting male involvement in healthcare, gender equality and ending gender-based violence against women and girls
Monitor implementation and delivery of quality services are delivered as per set standards.
Monitor distribution and utilization of associated HIV commodities.
Monitor the implementation of Quality improvement and innovative differentiated models of HTS, eMTCT/EID, PrEP and Gender integration at District and cluster level.
Periodically review and monitor performance against set targets, prepare periodic reports and evoke timely corrective action.
Strengthen collaborative partnerships with Health facilities, Community Based Organizations. And Drop In Centers.
Carry out operational research on the areas of KP/Gender to guide and provide lessons to improve performance then document best work practices in HFs and promote knowledge sharing through CMEs on areas of KP/PrEP/Gender new developments and changes in line with Baylor-Uganda research guidelines.

EXPERIENCE: 3 YEARS

Qualification:

A degree in Nursing or related field of medicine from a recognized institution, registered with the relevant professional body with solid practical skills in implementation of Gender mainstreaming interventions, HTS, eMTCT, EID, HIV Care and ART and Other prevention programs for key and priority populations.
Degree in social sciences with practical skills in implementation of Gender mainstreaming interventions, HTS, eMTCT, EID, HIV Care and ART and Other prevention programs for key and priority populations.
3 years of related work experience in technical assistance support to districts and Health System Strengthening (HSS).
