The Resident Coordinator’s Office supports the work of the UN Resident Coordinator in India and coordinates activities of the UN Country Team in its engagement with the Government of India as defined by the UN Sustainable Development Framework (UNSDF). India is currently implementing the UNSDF 2018-2022.
The UNRCO has published a job vacancy announcement on 14th September 2023 for qualified South Africa’s to fill in the vacant post of Data Management Officer to be based in Pretoria, South Africa.
Mission and objectives
The Resident Coordinator system (RC system) encompasses all organizations of the United Nations system dealing with operational activities for development, regardless of their formal presence in the country. The RC system aims to bring together the different UN agencies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities at the country level. Resident Coordinators lead UN country teams in more than 130 countries and are the designated representatives of the Secretary-General for development operations. Working closely with national governments, Resident Coordinators and country teams advocate the interests and mandates of the UN drawing on the support and guidance of the entire UN family.
Task description
Under the direct supervision of the Data Management Officer in the RCO, the UN University Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
Provide support on the Technical Advice and Quality Assurance for the following activities:
- Provision of technical advice and guidance to RGs and thematic groups during planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the UNSDCF;
- Development of the UN Country Report;
- Support with the Annual Reviews Process;
- Support with the reviewing of the results statements and indicators;
- Support the monitoring and reporting of the implementation of the UNSDCF M&E framework,
- Support with the developing systems for data collection.
Provide support in the development and refinement of the following tools:
- Results framework and plan for the new Cooperation Framework;
- Monitoring tools for the UNSDCF;
- The indicator reference sheet for the UNSDCF.
Provide support in the preparation of the following Reports:
- Quarterly reports for COVID-19 Socio-Economic Recovery and Response Plan (SERP);
- Results Group reports on a quarterly and annual basis;
- Expenditure reports for National Treasury;
- IMS annual surveys and scorecards.
