WHO South Sudan looking for “Individual Consultant”.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for international public health. The WHO Constitution states its main objective as “the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health”. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, it has six regional offices and 150 field offices worldwide.

The WHO has published a job vacancy announcement on 19th March 2024 for qualified South Sudanese to fill in the vacant post of Individual Consultant to be based in Juba, South Sudan.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualifications required:

University degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: social sciences and public health.

Experience required:

At least 5 years of relevant work experience in writing and monitoring reports. Experience in developing countries

Experience desired:

Experience with proposal writings in the context of UN Agencies, Non-Governmental organizations.
Experience with emergency environments.

Skills/ Technical skills and knowledge:

Proven track record of successfully securing funding from diverse donors, including governments, foundations, and multilateral
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and persuasive manner.
Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize information from various sources. Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Experience working in diverse, cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders at various levels, particularly in the context of South Sudan.
Familiarity with the specific challenges and context of South Sudan.
