The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is a global communion of national and regional Lutheran denominations headquartered in the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva, Switzerland. The federation was founded in the Swedish city of Lund in the aftermath of the Second World War in 1947 to coordinate the activities of the many differing Lutheran churches. Since 1984, the member churches are in pulpit and altar fellowship, with common doctrine as the basis of membership and mission activity.

The LWF has published a job vacancy announcement on December 25, 2023 for qualified Uganda’s to fill in the vacant post of Project Assistant – Afro Forestry to be based in Adjumani / Kiryandongo, Uganda.

Job Purpose:

Under the supervision of the Project Officer, the Project Assistant – Agro Forestry will be responsible for coordination, supervision, and implementation of all the project activities within the Agro-Forestry/Environment sector and in line with LWF Policies and Procedures.

Place of Assignment: Adjumani / Kiryandongo
Reports To: Project Officer
Starting date: ASAP
Deadline: January 02, 2024. 16:00hrs

Qualification:

A relevant degree in Forestry, Ecology or Biology
Two to four years of experience implementing agroforestry projects/activities in the field
Experience managing tree/vegetable nurseries
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with partner organizations, including governments, international and local NGOs, and community groups
Ability to communicate publicly (written and oral) with a wide range of audiences, including community members, donors, NGOs, government, and colleagues at all levels
Good computer skills and knowledge using Microsoft Office programs
Valid riding permit
