The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental organisation that protects the rights of people affected by displacement. This includes refugees and internally displaced persons who are forced to flee their homes as a result of conflict, human rights violations and acute violence, as well as climate change and natural disasters.

The NRC has published a job vacancy announcement on 11 March 2024 for qualified Nigeria’s to fill in the vacant post of Roving Logistics Procurement Officer to be based in Yola, Nigeria.

NRC Job Vacancy 2024

Responsibilities:

The Logistics Officer is responsible for managing logistics staff, vehicle fleet, assets, communications, procurement, security and properties to ensure effective, transparent and accountable logistic support to the Norwegian Refugee Council programs in NRC Nigeria. Liaison with program teams to ensure adequate logistical consideration for coordination and planning of program implementation.

Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
Implement delegated support function portfolio according to plan of action
Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
Ensure proper filing of documents
Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function

Qualification & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or it equivalent
At least 3 years Working Experience in a Similar Position
Experience from working as a Support Function Staff in a humanitarian/recovery context
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Fluent in spoken English, Hausa, and any other local language
