Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for the establishment and functioning of the Food System and Nutrition Council and coordination structures at different levels.
- Provide technical and programmatic leadership in the design and implementation of the project supported coordination and advocacy activities for SUN and the Food System and Nutrition Council.
- Provide technical and programmatic leadership in the design and implementation of SUN and Food System and Nutrition Council coordination arrangements based on assessment findings, and national food system and nutrition strategy, food systems roadmap, Seqota Declaration and multisectoral guidelines.
- Design evidence-based approaches to strengthen SUN MSP and the Food System and Nutrition Council, multisectoral coordination, budgeting and integrate within project activities according to the strategy and action plan.
- Provide technical support for the Activity in the creation and dissemination of SUN and multisectoral food system and nutrition tools, strategies for technical assistance and mentorship, reports, and interventions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the Government of Ethiopia Ministry of Health Nutrition Coordination Office, SUN MSP coordination platform, SUN Networks, Food System and Nutrition Council and its implementing sectors in both development and humanitarian contexts.
- Provide support to the National SUN MSP lead, SUN Networks and multisectoral food system and coordination platforms at different levels in advocacy, resource mobilization, activity tracking, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Leverage existing nutrition projects to support national and regional SUN and Multi-sector food system and nutrition coordination activities.
- Provide technical leadership in building linkages between different sectors and national and community platforms for increased coordination and collaboration.
- Lead the capacity strengthening efforts for key food system and nutrition stakeholders including the SUN MSP, Food System and Nutrition Council and its coordination platform, and Ethiopia Nutrition Leaders Network.
- Facilitate coordination meetings between the food system and nutrition sectors and food system and nutrition development partners to identify specific needs associated with the establishment and rollout of Food System and Nutrition Councils (FNCs).
- Lead the Activity’s multi-sectoral coordination engagement with all nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive projects.
- Participate in and lead the development of concept notes, log frames, proposals, budgets, workplans and roadmaps, and implementation.
- Identify capacity gaps on food system and nutrition council establishment in collaboration with MOH nutrition coordination office and provide support to address the gaps.
- Provide technical assistance for needs assessment initiatives of the different SUN and Food System and Nutrition Coordination platforms.
- Represent Feed the Future Community Nutrition Activity in different workshops and review meetings.
- Ensure technical deliverables and implementation are consistent with best practices.
- Proactively identify risks or challenges to technical deliverables and create mitigation plans.
- Review, assess, and evaluate the effectiveness of multisectoral nutrition governance interventions and make recommendations for enhancements.

Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- Master’s Degree or its International Equivalent in public health, nutrition, international development, or related fields. Knowledge/Information Services, Communications, Education, Environment, Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences International Development, Human Development or Related Field.
- Project Management (PM) Certification preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of related work experience, including in managing and coordinating Scaling Up Nutrition, multisectoral food system and nutrition coordination and governance initiatives for donor-funded programs, preferably in Ethiopia or similar country contexts.
- At least 8 years of relevant senior-level professional experience in managing and implementing nutrition programs in Ethiopia.
- Strong interpersonal, networking, advocacy and lobby skills and demonstrated competency in stakeholder engagement.
