In 2004, FINCA Uganda was licensed as a Microfinance Deposit Taking Institution (MDI) thus becoming the first MDI to be regulated by Bank of Uganda under the MDI Act of 2003. FINCA Uganda is part of the FINCA Impact Finance Network, a group of 20 microfinance and financial institutions that provides socially responsible financial services and enables low-income entrepreneurs and small business owners to invest in the future.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Identifying business objectives and inherent risks in activities and IT Systems to be audited and developing audit plans in assigned audit engagements
Performing field work and preparing quality working papers in compliance with audit standards and policy in assigned areas
Conducting quality assurance reviews in IT projects that are being undertaken by the bank and preparing reports of findings and recommendations to management.
Preparing quality drafts of audit reports for review by the assigned supervisor/manager
Preparing appraisals at the end of each audit engagement.
Reviewing of Bank of Uganda returns
Performing an advisory role bank wide

Qualification:

A bachelor’s degree in business computing, Computer Science, Information Technology.
Professional certification in Information Systems Auditing a MUST requirement
Security Risk and Governance, CISM, CRISC, CISSP is an added advantage
At least 2 years of progressive audit experience, and 2years’of work experience in a Financial Institution, Proficiency in risk based auditing experience and knowledge of scripting (SQL)
