IGCP Zimbabwe looking for “Finance Associate”.

IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional Afromontane Forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.

The IGCP has published a job vacancy announcement on May 14, 2024 for qualified Zimbabwe’s to fill in the vacant post of Finance Associate to be based in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Duties and Responsibilities

Promotion, implementation, observance, and adherence with the Child Protection Policy in all engagements.
Assisting in coordination of the daily payment processing procedure.
Assisting in the weekly capturing of ledger transactions.
Monthly preparation of bank reconciliations.
Assisting in processing of school fees payments and ensuring robust and accurate supporting documents for the same are provided by designated districts.
Assisting in capturing of payment schedules
Assisting in checking of authenticity, completeness and correctness of acquittals and receipts.
Assisting in proper filing of financial documents
Updating the 22600 control sheet
Other duties assigned as assigned from time to time.

Qualification:

Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
Knowledge of financial principles, practices and procedures with a strong understanding of financial systems and controls.
Familiarity with child protection policies and procedures is desirable.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
