IGCP Zimbabwe looking for “Marketing and Communications Associate”.

IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional Afromontane Forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.

The IGCP has published a job vacancy announcement on May 14, 2024 for qualified Zimbabwe’s to fill in the vacant post of Marketing and Communications Associate to be based in Harare, Zimbabwe.

IGCP Job Vacancy 2024

Specific Tasks Required:

Be familiar with all sponsorship packages for both donors and partners.
Develop a monthly newsletter highlighting current events, donor/partner involvement, student success stories etc. for release by the 10th of the subsequent month
Prepare content for press releases on donors, events, & sponsorships and for promotion in website, newsletter, etc. Content on donor events and other events should be profiled within 48 hours after the event.
Provide content or write a minimum of 12 profiles of donor impact on students and other programs/activities per year.
Write and distribute at least 2 monthly press release to appropriate media on donor impact Success stories etc.
Keep website (including social media accounts) up to date and fresh with current information and seek then post links to articles that could impact students or donors or facilitators.
With manager, set then track metrics to measure impact of donor activities.
Develop and circulate the annual report to key partners of the organization within the 2nd quarter of the year.
Act as a representative and media liaison person
Ensure website is up-to date at all times.
Ensure development and consistent update of marketing brochures, flyers and other promotional material
Provide weekly reports to the team, monthly report to the Marketing Manager (by the 5th of every month)
Ensure proper and strategic positioning of the signage
Ensure participation of the organization at key events such as the International Trade Fairs, Careers Fair and other marketing opportunities.
Ensure proper archiving of all relevant material for future reference purposes.
Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing / Associate Degree in Marketing & Communications or Public Relations
Excellent office computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Power-point, setting up laptops and electronic projectors).
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Self-starter/driven and able to stay self-motivated.
Able to work and manage program activities within set deadlines and with minimum supervision.
Ability to network with stakeholders at different levels.
