United Nations Secretariat Kenya looking for “Management and Programme Analyst”.

The United Nations Secretariat has published a job vacancy announcement on 06 March 2024 for qualified Kenya’s to fill in the vacant post of Management and Programme Analyst to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates policy development, including the review and analysis of issues and trends, preparation of evaluations or other research activities and studies, generates survey initiatives; designs data collection tools; reviews, analyzes and interprets responses, identify problems/issues and prepares conclusions.
  • Initiates and coordinates outreach activities; conducts training workshops, seminars, etc.; makes presentations on assigned topics/activities.
  • Collects and analyzes data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualification:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, statistics, information management or a related field.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.

Experience:

  • A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in applied analytics, business intelligence, information management, statistics, stakeholder management or related area is required.
  • A minimum of five years’ work experience with self-service analytics and data visualization applications (MS PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau or similar), or business intelligence tools (SAP Business Objects, etc.) is required.
  • Experience in using data to advance decisions, strategies and execution is required.    A minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in project management is required.
  • Working experience in programme/project evaluations and in the use of qualitative and quantitative evaluation methodologies is desirable.
