The UNMISS has published a job vacancy announcement on 30th April 2024 for qualified South Sudanese to fill in the vacant post of Heating-Ventilation And A/C Technician to be based in Wau, South Sudan.
UNMISS Job Vacancy 2024
Org. Setting and Reporting: This position is located in the Engineering of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, with duty station Wau. Wau is classified in the “E” category and as a non-family duty station. The incumbent will report to the Unit/Section Chief or the Chief Engineer.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Job – Specific Qualification:
- Certifiable proof of license to practice on domestic, commercial electrical and HVAC installations in accordance with the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE), UK codes or equivalent is desirable.
- Technical and vocational certificate in one of the following trades: air-conditioning, refrigeration, heating systems, power supply and electrical systems is required. Technical training in HVAC installations from a recognized Technical/Trade School is required.
Work Experience:
- At least six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in commercial and industrial HVAC, refrigeration and electrical installations is required.
- Experience working with the latest editions of the IEE wiring regulations is desirable.
- Experience in international operations in a post conflict environment is desirable.
Languages:
- French and English are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For this post advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
