UNMISS South Sudan looking for “Radio Journalism Consultant”.

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan is a United Nations peacekeeping mission for the recently independent South Sudan, which became independent on 9 July 2011. UNMISS was established on 8 July 2011 by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1996.
The UNMISS has published a job vacancy announcement on 15th May 2024 for qualified South Sudanese to fill in the vacant post of Radio Journalism Consultant to be based in Juba, South Sudan.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications/special skills:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in broadcast journalism, journalism/communications, international relations, political science, or related fields. A first level university degree with additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- At least 10 years’ experience working in broadcast journalism, with international radio experience required.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Film/Video/TV, Media, Broadcast Operations and Broadcast Journalism is required.
- Technical training in the field of radio broadcast and specific knowledge of software editing packages is required.
Languages:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in both oral and written English is required.
