The United Nations Mission in South Sudan is a United Nations peacekeeping mission for the recently independent South Sudan, which became independent on 9 July 2011. UNMISS was established on 8 July 2011 by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1996.

The UNMISS has published a job vacancy announcement on 20th March 2024 for qualified South Sudanese to fill in the vacant post of Contracts Management Assistant to be based in Juba, South Sudan.

UNMISS Job Vacancy 2024

Org. Setting and Reporting: This position is located in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) in Juba, South Sudan. Juba is classified in the “E” category and as a non-family duty station. The Contracts Management Assistant (FS5) will report to the Chief Rations officer or his/her designated official.

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

High school or equivalent diploma is required.

Job – Specific Qualification:

Relevant training in software applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel are required.

Work Experience:

A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively experience in supply management, contracts/quality administration, logistics or related area is required.
Knowledge of electronics rations management system (ERMS), Umoja/SAP database is required.
Experience in budget preparation, expenditure monitoring and invoices processing is desirable.
One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Experience in providing services in support of or in a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization is desirable.

Languages:

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
