IGCP South Africa looking for “Content Asset Management Associate”.

IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional Afromontane Forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.
The IGCP has published a job vacancy announcement on 26th April 2024 for qualified South Africa’s to fill in the vacant post of Content Asset Management Associate to be based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Duties and Responsibilities
a) Database Maintenance
- Regularly update and maintain the content management database with accurate information regarding content assets.
- Ensure data integrity by verifying and cross-referencing information entered in the database.
- Conduct routine audits to identify discrepancies or inconsistencies in the database and rectify them promptly.
b) Product Index Management
- Manage the product index by organizing and categorizing content assets according to predefined criteria.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that all content assets are properly tagged and indexed for easy retrieval.
- Continuously review and update the product index to reflect changes in content offerings.
c) Versioning Control
- Implement and maintain versioning control processes to track revisions and updates to content assets accurately.
- Coordinate with content creators and editors to ensure that the latest versions of content assets are appropriately documented and archived.
- Monitor versioning workflows to prevent version conflicts and ensure seamless collaboration among team members.
d) Asset Management
- Manage digital assets associated with learning content, including images, videos, documents, and other multimedia resources.
- Organize and catalogue digital assets to facilitate efficient retrieval and reuse.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that digital assets meet quality standards and comply with branding guidelines.
e) Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including learning designers, content creators, and editors to support content management initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates on project status, and address any concerns or issues promptly.
- Act as a point of contact for inquiries related to content assets and assist as needed.
Eligibility Criteria
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Library Science, Information Management, Communications, or related field).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Google Drive (Sheets, Docs, Slides) and experience with database management systems.
- Familiarity with content management principles and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
