IGCP South Africa looking for “Entrepreneurship Training Associate”.

IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional Afromontane Forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.

The IGCP has published a job vacancy announcement on 26th April 2024 for qualified South Africa’s to fill in the vacant post of Entrepreneurship Training Associate to be based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleansing and maintaining records of youth participating in the Bizz Nest entrepreneurship training program.
  • Ensuring all information related to Biz Nest youth is complete and accurate.
  • Proactively raise issues in relation to training content and delivery.
  • Monitor and highlight any possible identified anomalies in program records.
  • Coordinate the preparation of program reports.
  • Identify other stakeholders that can add value.
  • Identification and cultivation of innovation initiatives.
  • Review of business plans submitted by the youth and issuing of feedback.
  • Provide ad hoc support to projects in the entrepreneurship and innovation program.
  • Organising and scheduling of training programs for the youth.
  • Work collaboratively with the manager and team to execute support to the youth
  • Any other duties, as assigned by the line manager, in line with the role.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrable empathy, compassion and an understanding of the cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in the community
  • SA citizen or valid work permit to work in South Africa
  • Driver’s licence
  • Moderate travel (up to 40%) by land or air if required
  • Willing to work overtime
  • Proficiency in MS Office package
  • Good administrative and communications skills
  • Ability to work individually and in a team as well as under pressure and a demonstrated willingness to learn new things.
