IGCP South Africa looking for “HR Associate”.

IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional Afromontane Forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.
The IGCP has published a job vacancy announcement on 26th April 2024 for qualified South Africa’s to fill in the vacant post of HR Associate to be based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Duties and Responsibilities
- HR Delivery: Implement HR strategy and plans to support the business.
- HR Administration: Provide HR administration support including, keeping records, employment contracts, leave management, timesheets, payroll records, etc.
- Talent management and acquisition: Support recruitment, selection and appointment of staff to support business needs.
- Employee relations: Support implementation of disciplinary policies and procedures.
- Training and development: Ensure that annual training plans are implemented and training interventions are recorded and reported.
- Performance management: Ensure that regular performance reviews are conducted and recorded.
- Change management: Implement change management interventions as required by changes in the environment.
- Any other duties, as assigned by the line manager, in line with the role.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrable empathy, compassion and an understanding of the cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in the community
- SA citizen or valid work permit to work in South Africa
- Driver’s licence
- Moderate travel (up to 40%) by land or air if required
- Willing to work overtime
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
