IGCP Zambia looking for “Programs Associate”.

IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional afromontane forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.

The IGCP has published a job vacancy announcement on 14th May, 2024 for qualified Zambians to fill in the vacant post of Programs Associate to be based in Lusaka, Zambia.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the implementation of the organization programs nationally as well as recruitment, management and retention of volunteers.
Responsible for working within allotted budget.
Responsible for appraising program implementation in all regions for maximum effectiveness in line with developed timetable for maximum reach and impact.
Manage appraisal, printing and tracking of Program kits to ensure quality and availability.
Responsible for the implementation and communication regarding programs the associate runs.
Identify risks/issues to implementation of programs, resolve or escalate to Program Manager.
Stay ahead of current trends and developments that can enhance program delivery and impact.
Champion the organization brand and ensure program communications, events and partnerships align with the overall brand strategy.

Minimum Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable university
Experience working in or volunteering for a non-profit organization.
Project Management skills
Presentation and facilitation skills
Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Good oral and written communication skills
Good organizing and planning skill
Team player
Demonstrable passion for development work, particularly in South African development.
