Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setting and Reporting The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, is the agency for human settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. The Donor Relations and Strategic Resource Partnerships Unit of UN-Habitat is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with donors and mobilizing resources for the organization’s projects and programmes. The Unit works closely with other units within UN-Habitat to ensure effective and efficient utilization of donor resources. The Donor Relations Intern will assist the Donor Relations and Resource Mobilization Unit to clean and process the grants and donor related data, build and maintain the data tools and dashboards, as well as participating in the planning and development of the UN-Habitat Donor Intelligence Portal.   Responsibilities Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s background; the intern’s assigned office as well as the internship period.

Qualification:

  • Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements: a. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); b. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); c. Have graduated with Bachelor’s degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent Be computer literate in standard software applicants; Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views. Preferred area of Studies: Computer science, software development, information management, data science, or statistics, or other related fields. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme.  Do you meet any of the above criteria?
