The UNHCR has published a job vacancy announcement on 16th May 2024 for qualified South Africa’s to fill in the vacant post of Technical Consultant to be based in Pretoria, South Africa.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications and experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Administration or similar field or Technical Diploma in relevant field with a minimum 5 years of experience.
Work Experience:
- Experience with project management; from the onset to project completion
- Experience in programme planning, design, follow-up, report writing,
- Experience drafting materials tailored for different audiences
- Experience in working with various partners, working with international and national experts to implement project activities
- Strong communication skills –written and oral
- previous experience in Disaster Risk Reduction, Anticipatory Action or Resilience building projects and advantage.
Key Competencies:
- Proven project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and professional knowledge of English
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic project environment
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools
- Knowledge of climate change, disaster risk reduction, and resilience-building concepts and practices
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation techniques and the development of SMART indicators.
