IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional afromontane forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.

The IGCP has published a job vacancy announcement on May 02, 2024 for qualified Kenya’s to fill in the vacant post of Sales Manager to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Duties and Responsibilities

This is a full-time on-site role  located at Sabaki, along Mombasa Road. The Sales Manager will be responsible for:

  • a) Managing and leading the sales team.
  • b) Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company sales targets and objectives.
  • c) Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with corporate clients to expand the company’s customer base.
  • d) Lead and motivate the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • e) Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within corporate accounts.
  • f) Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to develop sales strategies and promotional campaigns to effectively reach target markets.
  • g) Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • h) Monitoring competitor activities, and providing feedback to improve the sales process.
  • i) Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and budgets to senior management.
  • j) Negotiate contracts and agreements with corporate clients to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • k) Provide ongoing training and support to the sales team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • l) Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in sales, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop effective sales strategies.

  • Knowledge of CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
