UNMISS Job Vacancy 2023

Org. Setting and Reporting: This position is located in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) with duty station in Juba, in the Medical Section and under the Service Delivery Pillar of the Mission Support Division. The Medical Officer (Infections Diseases and Public Health) will report to the Chief Medical Officer. Juba is classified in the “E” category and as a non-family duty station.

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

Medical doctor (MD) with a master’s or equivalent in public health, infectious diseases, health promotion and education or HIV/AIDS specialist is required.

Work Experience:

At least seven (7) years’ experience in internal medicine, family medicine, tropical medicine, epidemiology/public health, microbiology, infectious diseases, Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH), Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and HIV&AIDS program is required.
Experience in Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases, HIV&AIDS programming particularly in a conflict and post conflict scenario is desirable.

Languages:

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Working Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
